Residents Plunge For Charity

A large number gathered at Lakeside beach this past Saturday to participate in the annual Polar Bear Plunge. Sponsored by the Port Huron Kiwanis Club, the event raises money for local youth groups and area organizations participating in the plunge.  This is the Kiwanis Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year and typically brings in between $10,000 and $15,000.  Air temperatures were around 45 with the water temperature in Lake Huron the same.
