St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron has enhanced its computer information systems – web development associate degree program to reflect the latest techniques and tools in the industry.  The curriculum changes, which will begin with winter semester 2012 classes in January, are designed to better provide students with employable skills and make them more marketable. The program will prepare students to obtain jobs developing and maintaining websites for a wide range of organizations.  The changes include: Adding three new classes that align the program to enable students to earn national accreditation through Certified Internet Web Professional. The certifications are CIW Site Development Associate, CIW Web Design Specialist or CIW JavaScript Specialist. Testing for these certifications will be part of the SC4 program and offered on campus.  Earning the certifications in addition to the SC4 degree will make students more marketable to employers.  Revising the Internet Development II class to enhance focus on intermediate web development software such as Adobe Dreamweaver.  Students who previously selected the program from the College Catalog can choose to complete their degree following the old program or can elect to switch to the new curriculum.  For details about the degree, call the SC4 Computer and Office Technology Department at
(810) 989-5628.  Registration for winter classes is open now. For registration and payment information,  contact Enrollment Services at (810) 989-5500 or enrollment@sc4.edu.
