A call of a suspicious person by a citizen ended up being an armed robbery of the “D” Brothers Party Store in the 4500 block of 24th Avenue last night. According to Sheriff Tim Donnellon, deputies received a call of a suspicious person running across 24th Avenue away from the store shortly after 8:00. When deputies arrived at “D” Brothers, they saw that the store was dark and apparently had closed early. They were able to make contact with the owner of the store who had gone home. When he was questioned, the owner said he had come out from the coolers and discovered the suspect behind the counter. The suspect brandished a weapon and told the owner to give him all the money. The owner complied and the thief left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau was called in to assist in the investigation, which is ongoing. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’ to 6’ 2” in height. He was wearing a red sweatshirt over a white t-shirt, a black ski mask with white trim, black jeans and black shoes. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (810) 985- 8115.
