Beginning Monday, December 19, 2011, the City of Port Huron in cooperation with the Downtown Development Authority will begin the removal of the screening along the rear of the buildings on the west side of Michigan Street between Quay Street and Grand River. The contractor anticipates all work will take place off the roadway on private property on the west side of Michigan Street. Michigan Street will remain open and the public will have access to the businesses that front onto Michigan Street. While front access to businesses along the east side of the 200 block of Huron will be undisturbed, rear access to these buildings will be closed. This work will be ongoing through approximately mid January of 2012.
