The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $500 reward for information on several shotguns and rifles stolen from a residence in the 3000 block of Wheatland Road in Wheatland Township. Officials say the owners of the weapons reported the theft of about 12 hunting guns believed to have been stolen Thursday night. Investigation showed that a rear entrance door to the residence had been forced open. It is believed that the suspect or suspects knew the owner of the home due to evidence at the scene. Investigation continues, and anyone with information about the suspects or the location of the guns is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (810) 648-2000 and ask for Deputy Shelly Park or Sgt. Mark Siemen.
