St. Clair County Community College’s Spiral Gallery at Studio 1219 in Port Huron will be featuring the work of local artist and SC4 alumna Katie Bartle from Jan. 17 through Feb. 26. Bartle of Yale will show illustrations exploring the fishing and ice-fishing culture of the Blue Water Area. She also will show her hand-made fishing lures. A show opening is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20. Bartle also will be featured as an “SC4 Artist in Action” from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, and Friday, Feb. 3. The “SC4 Artist in Action” takes place in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch Bartle work and talk about art. Bartle earned her associate degree in communication design in 2010 and her associate degree in liberal arts in 2009 from SC4. She is an advertising assistant at the Times Herald. Each month, the work of an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured in the Spiral Gallery. Studio 1219 hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
