Museum Provides Winter-Break Activities For Kids

If you are looking for activities to keep the kids entertained over this winter break, check out the area’s nautical and cultural history at the museum at 1111 Sixth St.  You also can view the latest exhibit, Mysteries of the Blue Water, a hands-on exploration of life surrounding — and at the bottom of — the Great Lakes. It is designed for ages 6 and older.  » Special programs: Paint Your Own Great Lakes fish in water colors, Wednesday; Make Your Own Fossil, make wildlife fossils out of clay and plaster, Thursday; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle; Make Ink Prints, Dec. 30. The classes start at 1 p.m. Cost is $3, and registration is requested. Call (810) 982-0891. Hours: Museum is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. daily; closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Admission: $7 adults, $5 seniors 60 and older and students 5 to 17, $20 for families, and free for museum members, active military with ID and children 4 and younger.
