Target Store Evacuated Last Night For About An Hour

The Target store located at 4300 24th Ave in Fort Gratiot was temporarily evacuated last evening as firefighters investigated a natural gas odor in the store.  Store employees reported the odor and had evacuated the building before Fort Gratiot firefighters arrived on scene at about 6 p.m.  According to reports the cause of the odorll was a rooftop heating unit that had failed to light.  Customers were allowed back in the store about 7 p.m. yesterday after crews had aired out the building.
