Firefighters From Four Townships Battle Blaze

Firefighters from Grant, Burtchville, Fort Gratiot and Kenockee townships worked to battle a fire that damaged a house and destroyed a garage Wednesday morning on Norman Road.   It is reported that the homeowner was getting tools in his basement and saw smoke when he returned to the garage.  By that time the fire had spread into the attic and kitchen.  The fire began in the garage, which contained machinery and antique motorcycles.  A damage estimate was not available at the time of this report but, the house is reported to be unlivable.
