Yale and Brockway Township fire departments will see a new fire chief this year. Dave Fredrick, has served as the assistant fire chief for the fire departments – and is the newly elected Yale city clerk will step into the spot vacated by Don Priess who announced his retirement in December. Brockway Township trustees voted Dec. 13 to move 53 year old Fredrick, to the position of chief, and the city council is expected to vote Jan. 9 on Fredrick’s appointment. Firefighters had voted Dec. 1 in favor of Fredrick taking over the position along with appointing Priess’ son, Donnie Priess, as the new assistant fire chief.
