Military Street Fire Investigation

Investigation continues into a house fire that was reported at about 9 pm last night at 1926 Military Street in Port Huron.  Port Huron fire crews responded to the two-story home on the east side of Military Street to find heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building.  Crews were able to contain the fire to a kitchen area in the rear of the house. Reports say an area of flammable liquid was detected in the home and firefighters believe the incident to be suspicious.  The house which was undergoing renovations was currently unoccupied.  Military Street was closed off  between Minnie and Tunnel streets for a couple of hours  as crews worked the scene.
