Safe Horizons Sees New Director

Sarah Prout, former litigation director of Lakeshore Legal Aid in Port Huron, is taking the seat of the new executive director of Safe Horizons.  The organization oversees the Pathway homeless shelter and a shelter for victims of abuse, Carolyn’s Place. It also has a housing program and outreach programs for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.  Former executive director Jenny MacReady left the position at the end of November last year, moving to Wisconsin.  The 38-year old Prout has  provided legal advice and advocacy to Safe Horizon’s clients for the past 10 years.
