A 46 year old man is in the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center, following the investigation into the death of a woman he was living with. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the incident began with a phone call from the father of the suspect, who had gone to the house Saturday morning. The man said he heard strange noises and called 911. A deputy from the Sheriff’s Office and troopers from Michigan State Police went to the home in the 9200 block of Puttygut Road. The deputy observed bullet holes through the wall of the house, which had come from the inside. Looking through a window, he saw the body of a woman, identified as 26 year old Carrie Neusius. The woman was obviously deceased and the 46 year old man was found lying on the floor, uninjured but intoxicated. He was transported to River District Hospital in East China Township. Once he was cleared medically, he was taken into custody and transported to the IDC, where he awaits arraignment Tuesday or Wednesday. The police report has been sent to the St. Clair County Prosecutor’s Office to determine what charge will be issued against the man. An autopsy performed on the woman showed that it appears she had been shot at least one time.
