February 3, 2012
By

The National Wild Turkey Federation is a national, non-profit, educational conservation organization comprised of state and local affiliates working for the restoration and wise management of the American wild Turkey and other valuable natural resources. These dedicated groups are combined into one strong, enlightened organization for the purpose of improving the quality of the environment and conserving wildlife. The Federation was organized in 1973 by persons who wanted to lead the way in managing and restoring, rather than exploiting, the wild turkey and other natural wildlife resources.  .   A hunting heritage banquet with games, raffles, prizes and silent auction will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at Alexander’s, 1195 Gratiot Blvd. Tickets are $60 for one dinner and membership, $90 for two dinners for a traditional couple and one membership and $30 JAKES for ages 17 and younger, which includes one dinner and membership. For details, call (810) 385-9229.
