“The Wiz” At The Performing Arts Center In East China

St. Clair High School Theatre Troupe continue tonight in performing “The Wiz” at the Performing Arts Center in East China.    The production includes some 75 students from Freshman through Senior at St. Clair High.  Performances are at 7:00 p.m.  Friday/Saturday night Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $8 for students and seniors -  $12 adults.  The musical ”The Wiz”- is a classic from the 70’s which according to instructor Mark Eberhard is an urbanized retelling of L. Frank Baum‘s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz …which follows the adventures of Dorothy, a shy Harlem, New York schoolteacher who finds herself magically transported to the Land of Oz, which resembles a fantasy version of New York City.
