In yesterday’s election Mitt Romney pulled ahead to win in both Michigan and Arizona Presidential primaries. Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul did little in these two states, instead focusing their efforts into next week’s 10-state collection of Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses. Here in St. Clair County as well as Sanilac County voters pushed for Rick Santorum as the Republican candidate. While most ballots contained strictly the Presidential primary vote, Casco Township voters were asked to pass a road millage. Voters said yes by a close call of 10 votes to a four-year, 1-mill tax increase to raise just under $143 thousand dollars for road projects. Casco Township was the only municipality in St. Clair or Sanilac counties with a local issue on the ballot in Tuesday’s primary.
