St. Clair County Community College will present the second show in the 44th annual Beatrice Thornton Student Art Exhibition in March on the college’s Port Huron campus. The exhibition’s middle and high school art show will be March 1 through 22. Show hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The galleries will be closed Friday, March 9; Saturday, March 10; and Sunday, March 11. An opening-day reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1. The reception also will feature an SC4 Visual and Performing Arts Department Open House. Faculty and students from the department will be available to answer questions about SC4 art programs and facilities. The Beatrice Thornton exhibition was split into two shows, both in SC4’s Fine Arts Galleries. Elementary school art was shown first; that show runs through Thursday, Feb. 23. Art teachers from all St. Clair County schools were invited to choose student work for the exhibition, which is free to the public. For details, visit www.sc4.edu/artshows or call (810) 989-5709.
