Members of the St. Clair County Board of Education approved at last night’s meeting, the new staffing procedure to reflect state law passed back in July of 2011, which puts greater emphasis on student growth and achievement, and seniority will factor in when all other points are equal. Board members Ann Murphy and Ronda Ryan were not present. According to reports, staffing will be done by administration taking into account recent performance evaluations, looking at teachers who have proved to be highly effective and those will be chosen first to fill vacancies. Also at last night meeting the board approved, 5-0, four contracts associated with the district’s $22.8 million bond project. Several students were recognized for outstanding achievements in scholarships, academics, and athletics as well.
