Electronic Waste Collection Saturday

Goodells County Park Barn

St Clair County’s Environmental Services Department has partnered with Vintage Tech Recyclers to host an electronic waste collection event on March 31, 2012 at Goodells County Park.   This site will allow residents, schools and small businesses the opportunity to dispose of their computer electronics and televisions in an environmentally friendly manner. Electronic equipment, especially computers, printers and monitors quickly become outdated.  Consequently, many of these items end up in landfills.  While these types of electronic equipment are not banned from landfills, the components often contain materials that are hazardous to human health.  For this reason, St Clair County and Vintage Tech Recyclers encourage residents to dispose of electronic waste at this collection event. Among the items accepted are:  televisions, computers (PCs), all-in-ones, laptops, modems, printers, monitors, CD-ROM drives, keyboards, mice, cables, hard drives, motherboards, mobile telephones, fax machines, MP3 players, PDA’s, video cassette recorders/players, digital video disk players, zip drives, scanners, telephones, stereos, radios and video game consoles.   These items will be collected at no charge.  Vintage Tech Recyclers specialize in electronic recycling/reuse/refurbishing and recovering all possible parts and units.  For more information about Vintage Tech Recyclers go to:  www.vintagetechrecyclers.com.
