St. Clair County Community College’s Spiral Gallery at Studio 1219 in Port Huron will be featuring work April 3 through 28 created by instructor Holly Pennington’s SC4 Drawing II students. Pennington’s Drawing II class students were asked to bring in materials from which to create sculptural pieces. They then were asked to directionally light their 3-D constructions and develop drawings based on them. The gallery will showcase several of the students’ drawings illustrating the depth and volume of their constructions. The 3-D sculptural pieces also will be on display. A show opening is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 6. Pennington’s students also will be featured as the “SC4 Artist in Action” from 5 to 7 p.m. each Friday in April. The “SC4 Artist in Action” takes place in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch the artists work and talk about art. Studio 1219 hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Studio 1219 is at 1219 Military St. For details, visit www.sc4.edu/spiral.
