Bariatric Program At Port Huron Hospital Renamed

The Lap-Band Center of Michigan, a bariatric program at Port Huron Hospital has been renamed the Bariatric Center of Michigan which according to officials, better reflects the range of procedures now available. Services include gastric banding, gastric sleeve and gastric bypass surgery.  The hospital now offers all of the procedures that might be available at any health system in southeast Michigan.  In addition to more surgical options, patients also have a wider range of physicians from which to choose.  Dr. Karen McFarlane and Dr. Nicholas Nunnally received hospital privileges in January, both perform all three gastric procedures.   Dr. Zubin Bhesania and Dr. Anthony Boutt also retain their hospital privileges at Port Huron Hospital. Both physicians also practice at the bariatric center at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron.
