Authorities continue investigation into a fire that damaged a two-story house on 911 Pine St. in Port Huron in the early hours Saturday morning. According to Port Huron Fire Department reports, firefighters responded to the blaze about 4 a.m., to visible flames at the rear of the home. There were reports of people being trapped on the home’s second floor, but firefighters determined those individuals had exited the home after doing a primary search of the house, which was divided into two apartments. Both Marysville and Port Huron Township firefighters responded to the scene along with Port Huron Fire Department which called in an emergency crew. While there were no civilian injuries two firefighters sustained minor injuries but were treated without hospital care. The back of the home was heavily damaged from the fire with smoke damage throughout the building. Port Huron police and the fire department’s fire investigator are looking for people who had been at the scene when the incident occurred.
