On Monday, April 23, 2012, local musicians “Monday’s Lie” will visit the Wigs 4 Kids Wellness Center at 3:30 PM to deliver proceeds raised from the rock concert and fashion show, “Rock the Runway”. The event was held at the Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens in an effort to encourage residents to buy products from local vendors while raising awareness of children in need in the community. In addition to $1,000 raised by the efforts of the Empire Seven Clothing Line, “Monday’s Lie” is donating an extra $300 to Wigs 4 Kids, along with merchandise from the band and a bottle of wine to be raffled off at one of the organization’s events. “We are really looking forward to having “Monday’s Lie” visit our Wigs 4 Kids Wellness Center & Salon,” said Maggie Varney, Founder & CEO of Wigs 4 Kids. “The kindness and generosity of caring individuals and businesses in the community helps us to continue our mission of serving the children of Michigan. We now see three times the children than we have in previous years and the need for our services is great. The promotional efforts of all involved helped us to reach a mother with alopecia who has a daughter that is now experiencing the same health challenge resulting in hair loss.” Wigs 4 Kids provides wigs and support services to Michigan children experiencing hair loss as a result of cancer treatment, alopecia, trichotillomania and other disorders. The program is available to any child or teen from ages 3 to 18 at no cost to them or their families.
