A fire at the paper company Domtar on Washington Avenue in Port Huron saw four units of firefighters at work just shortly after 8:00 p.m. last evening. According to fire officials the blaze began in one of the paper machines, which then set off the plant’s sprinkler system. Firefighters extinguished the fire, then stood watch as the paper plant resumed operation, McBride said. Responders were on the scene for less than an hour.
