Groundbreaking For McMorran Greenway

A groundbreaking ceremony for the McMorran Greenway and Street Closure Project will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday. McMorran Boulevard from Erie to River Street and River Street from McMorran Boulevard to Willow Street will be closed beginning this Saturday.  The project is designed to provide safer pedestrian flow on campus, provide additional more green space for students, faculty, staff and the community, and give SC4 a more defined entrance or “front door.”  The McMorran Greenway and Street Closure Project is part of a two-year, $1 million public fundraising campaign for student scholarships and five capital projects on campus.  All Aboard: Campaign for Talent, Technology and Tomorrow” was launched Nov. 1 by SC4 and the SC4 Foundation to raise money for the projects.  As of the first of the week 38% of the million dollar goal has been pledged or raised.  The majority of the work is expected to be completed by the end of August.
