Tim Ward currently serves as St. Clair County Commissioner for the City of Port Huron (Precinct 1-3) and the Townships of Burtchville, Fort Gratiot and Grant. He is up for re-election this fall, but, says he will not be running. Karl Tomion, former City Manager of Port Huron and Algonac, told WGRT yesterday he will be running for that vacant seat. Tomion retired from the Algonac City Manager position officially in March of this year, and feels his 37 years in local government will serve the position well. He says it is important to continue serving government in a variety of ways. He currently serves as President of the Blue Water Middle College, Vice-chair of the St. Clair County Community College Foundation and is the Secretary of the Port Huron Hospital Board. He looks at this as just another opportunity for him to help make St. Clair County a better place to work and live in.
