Two Injured In Head-On Collision

Two Fair Haven men were injured in a head on crash Tuesday evening on Dixie Highway in Ira Township.  According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, deputies were called to the scene of the crash in the 9600 block of Dixie shortly after 7:00 p.m.  During the investigation, it appeared that a car being driven eastbound on Dixie Highway by 49 year old Robert Kruger crossed the centerline and struck a car driven by 51 year old Steven Kelley.  Both drivers suffered multiple injuries and were transported to McLaren Macomb Hospital.  The roadway was closed nearly three and a half hours during the investigation.  Michigan State Police, Ira Township Fire and Rescue, Clay Township Fire and Rescue and Tri Hospital EMS all assisted at the scene of the crash.  The 35 year old Port Huron man accused of slashing his cousin was arraigned yesterday in Port Huron’s 72^nd District Court.
