On Tuesday, May 15, 2012, the Port Huron Police Department honored several brave men and women for their efforts to make our community safer. The 2012 Law Enforcement/Civilian Awards and Recognition Ceremony was held at the City of Port Huron Municipal Office Center and was attended by several citizens and officers from around the community. The ceremony was held in conjunction with National Police Week, May 13-19, 2012. Over 120 awards were received recognizing bravery, thoroughness, teamwork and administrative excellence. Several area agencies were also recognized for their valuable assistance in fighting crime including St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department, Croswell PD, Tri Hospital EMS, Port Huron Fire Department, Michigan State Police, St. Clair County Prosecutor’s Office, Customs and Border Protection, US Marshals Service, St. Thomas PD, Ontario, US Department of Justice, Lake County Sheriffs Department, IN, and the St. Clair County Medical Examiners Office.
