The Annual Port Huron Memorial Day Parade begins at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 28, 2012. The parade starts at Huron and Quay Streets and then proceeds North on Huron Avenue to Pine Grove Park. A ceremony is held at the “eternal flame” memorial (Southeast corner of the park) at noon when the U.S. Flag is raised from half-staff to full-staff. According to Memorial Day Parade Co-Chair Valerie O’Connor, “The Memorial Day Parade focuses attention and shows support for those who served and the families who lost loved ones in all U.S. Wars and Conflicts.” All Veterans from any war or conflict are welcome at Pine Grove Park, or walking in the parade if they would like…Area High School Bands and Garfield Elementary School will perform.
