An early morning crash yesterday closed down Pine Grove Avenue at 24th Avenue in Fort Gratiot, for a short time.. A 21-year-old Port Huron woman and a 40-year-old Fort Gratiot woman were transported to Port Huron hospital after the accident that occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. Holly Roberts of Fort Gratiot is reported to have been driving her minivan southbound on 24th Avenue when a white jeep going northbound attempted to turn onto Pine Grove Avenue right in front of the minivan. The minivan hit the jeep which was driven by Victoria Cann of Port Huron. The jeep then flipped over. Both women suffered minor injuries and Cann is being issued a citation for failing to yield. St. Clair County sheriff deputies, Fort Gratiot firefighters, Tri-Hospital EMS and Port Huron police were called to the scene which was cleared shortly after 8:00 a.m.
