Man To Be Sentenced

THE TIMES HERALD – A Fort Gratiot man will be sentenced at 2 p.m. June 11 in St. Clair County court on charges connected to a reported scuffle with police officers. Cory Herman, 21, has pleaded no contest to third-degree fleeing and eluding police, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer causing injury, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and operating while intoxicated. Police said they responded to a domestic violence call Dec. 29 in Marysville in the 600 block of Carolina Avenue when the incident occurred. Herman, who had been drinking, fled the scene. A chase ended when Herman lost control of his car and drove into a tree. He was accused of kicking one officer in the chest and kneeing a second officer in the head before they could subdue him.
