Summer Taxes

Residents of the city of Port Huron can expect their summer tax bills in the mail this week. According to City Treasurer, Edward Brennan, 2012 summer tax bills went out in the mail on Tuesday, June 26. Summer taxes may be paid without penalty on or before July 31. Residents will see 18. Mills tax levied by the Port Huron Area School District, on all non-principle resident property, and the Downtown Development Authority has levied an additional 1.98 mills on all property located with said district. Brennan says the City Treasurer’s Office has available the necessary forms for a person whose household income does not exceed $40,000 and who qualifies to defer the payment of their 2012 summer tax bill until February 15, 2013. These forms must be completed by September 15, 2012.
