Debra Barnes
St. Clair County Community Mental Health named Debra Barnes as its most recent Outstanding Employee of the Month. Barnes is a mental health assistant and has been with SCCCMH for seven years. Barnes was nominated by her peers because she willingly fills in for anything that needs to be done. She assists others with scheduling conflicts, and makes adjustments to her own schedule in order to accommodate others. Barnes recently went above and beyond expected duties by helping someone who had been homeless gather articles needed for a new home. Barnes is always warm and cheerful and shows exemplary empathy to individuals who receive CMH services. In her spare time, Barnes volunteers her time locally at the Blue Water Pregnancy Care Center. Nomination guidelines recognize an employee for going “Above and Beyond” their normal job scope such as providing service excellence within a team or with the persons we serve.
