This breaks the old record of 101 set in 1887. Due to the lack of rain, along with high temperatures, a swimming advisory was issued for six local public beaches.
Conger/Lighthouse beach – Holland Road beach -Lakeside beach -Krafft Road – Port Huron – Keewadhin Road in Fort Gratiot – and Lakeport State Park Campground beach, Lakeport have all been reopened. Testing today has found bacteria levels in compliance with standards for safe swimming.
