Work Continues On Capsized Vessels In Lake

A news release from St. Clair County officials states:   All tank vent valves have been secured.   Shoreside clean up operations are being conducted from Lakeport south to Keewahdin Rd and clean up operations are continuing at the site.  Sheen has reached the shoreline, however there was no thick product. There have been some reports of debris washing the shore.  Air quality assessments have been performed with no pollutants present.   After further assessment, the Health Department has determined the status of area beaches as follows: 

OPEN: Lake Huron – Burtchville Township Park                            Lakeport

OPEN: Lake Huron – Jeddo Road Beach                                          Lakeport

CLOSED: Lake Huron – Metcalf Road Beach                                 Burtchville

CLOSED: Lake Huron – Fort Gratiot County Park                          Fort Gratiot

CLOSED: Lake Huron – Lakeport State Park (day use/rec)             Lakeport

OPEN: Lake Huron – Lakeport State Park Campground                  Lakeport

CLOSED: Lake Huron – Washington Street Park                             Lakeport

OPEN: Lake Huron – Keewadhin Road Beach                                 Fort Gratiot

OPEN: Lake Huron – Krafft Road Beach                                         Port Huron

OPEN: Lake Huron – Lakeside Beach                                               Port Huron

OPEN: Lake Huron – Holland Road Beach                                      Port Huron

OPEN: Lake Huron – Conger-Lighthouse Beach                              Port Huron

CLOSED: St. Clair River – Chrysler Park Beach                             Marysville (E.coli results)

OPEN: St. Clair River – Marine City Beach                                      Marine City

OPEN: St. Clair River – Marine City Diving Area                            Marine City

 Those residents living from Burtch Road to Metcalf Road are also advised to avoid swimming in those areas as a precautionary health measure. No health risks are expected.   The public information line is still operational at 810-982-3910 for citizens to contact for more information or to report concerns regarding property. An e-mail address has also been established to report concerns at arthurjresponse@gmail.com.   Do not call 9-1-1 unless you are experiencing a life threatening emergency.   Further updates will be issued as information becomes available.
