Sanilac County Sheriff Department say a 12-year-old boy was rescued from Lake Huron about 6:10 p.m. Sunday after a couple spotted the boy floating in a tube about three miles north of Port Sanilac and a mile east of shore. Tom and Mary Twiss of Carsonville, who were traveling in their boat, rescued the boy and transported him to a nearby harbor, where he was turned over to the Marine Patrol for treatment and to locate his family. A news release stated the boy had no injuries, and was turned over to his father. It was determined that the boy had floated away from shore of their home in the 2000 block of North Lakeshore Road in Forester Township due to a westerly wind.
