A 21 year old Richmond woman is dead and three others were taken to local hospitals, following a one car crash in the early hours yesterday in Columbus Township.  According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, a 23 year old Clay Township man was driving a Ford pickup truck westbound on Frith Road shortly after 12:30 Monday at a high rate of speed.  The truck went over the railroad tracks west of Rattle Run Road, went airborne, came down and went into a ditch.  The truck then struck the side of a driveway, hit a tree and rolled.  The driver and two of his passengers, 24 year old Katie Sobczak of Chesterfield Township and 26 year old Steven Campbell of Richmond, were taken to local hospitals, while 21 year old Nicole Brown of Richmond  was pronounced dead at the scene.  Michigan State Police, Memphis Fire and Rescue and Richmond Lenox EMS assisted at the scene.  Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.  Because the case remains under investigation, the name of the driver is not being released at this time.
