A 33-year-old Port Huron man is currently being held in the St. Clair County jail after he reportedly hit a 27-year-old Port Huron man with a baseball bat shortly after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday outside a residence on the 1300 block of Seventh Street in Port Huron. Port Huron Police say the two men began fighting after the 27-year-old man went to pick up his son at the 33-year-old man’s home. The 33-year-old man lives with the 27-year-old man’s former girlfriend and the boy, according to reports. An argument ensued following some racial slurs, and the 33-year-old man proceeded to swing and hit the other man in the head with a bat. An off-duty border patrol agent driving by broke up the fight and held the 33-year-old man at gunpoint until Port Huron police arrived on scene. The 33-year-old Port Huron man was arrested for felonious assault.
