Authorities say a small plane hit a power line and crashed into a corn field while attempting to land in southeastern Michigan Sunday evening.  The two men aboard the plan were injured in the crash.  The crash occurred in Monroe County Ida Township. The co-pilot recorded video of the attempted landing that has since been released by the sheriff’s department.  Authorities say the single engine plane was piloted by 84-year-old Wilbert Matthes of Ida and his co-pilot was his 20-year-old grandson Ian Zawacki of Monroe. They were trying to land at a small airport when a landing gear caught the power line north of the landing strip.  The men were taken to a hospital as a precaution as the injuries were described as minor. Some power outages were reported due to the crash.
