As students head back to school this September, it is a good time to make sure children and teens sign-up for the most important school supply of all – a library card. September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association and libraries across the county remind parents and caregivers that a library card is the smartest card you can own. Library cards are free to all St. Clair County residents or property owners. Bring a photo ID with your current address to any of the 11 branches. Children under the ages of 18 will need to have a parent or legal guardian present, with proper identification, when applying. When you stop in to sign-up for or renew your library card in September, you will receive a free gift. With a gift, friendly staff and all the resources your card can provide, now is the perfect time to become a St. Clair County Library System card holder.
