Saturday, September 1 – 10am – 10pm
Thumbfest 2012 has nine stages, as well as active workshops and jams, throughout downtown Lexington. This year’s Thumbfest 2012 promises to be the most exciting acoustic festival in the Blue Water area! The Blue Water Folk Society presents their 11th year highlighting live acoustic music, with opportunities to both hear and participate! They’ll have nine stages scattered throughout beautiful downtown Lexington, as well as active workshops and jams. Bands include Ann Arbor newcomers Dragon Wagon — described as bluegrass folk-rock with a shot of Irish whiskey, and Sister Wilene — pure, classic country swing and heartbreak. We welcome back three-time Metro Times Detroit Music Award-winners Billy Brandt and Sarana Ver Lin, as well as Nicky-Boy Street Band’s New Orleans brass with Detroit attitude, and the amazing Celtic quartet, Finvarra’s Wren. Michigan favorites Mustard’s Retreat and Jim Bizer and Jan Krist return and more! Everyone is invited to this free, once-a-year, family-friendly event. Parking and shuttlebuses are free.
