Military Street Bridge Accident Sees Man With Serious Injuries

Serious injuries were sustained following a two car accident on Military Street Bridge yesterday.  A man was taken to Port Huron hospital after having to be extricated from his small pickup truck.  According to reports, the truck and a car were both headed northbound over the bridge when they collided, although the cause of the accident is still unknown.  A male driver and female passenger in the car sustained minor injuries.  Reports from witnesses, say it appears the small pickup truck crossed the center line just before crossing the bridge, then crashed into the sidewalk and barriers on the west side of the roads.  The bridge remained closed to traffic for several hours while the accident was investigated.
