Fire Fighters, EMTs, Police, Veterans, Military Personnel, Dignitaries and citizens from the U.S. and Canada, met at the International Flag Plaza near the Blue Water Bridges this morning to commemorate and revere those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, as well as those still in service. Speeches, songs, a gun salute, and releasing of doves were all part of the ceremony. Three wreaths were highlighted in remembrance of those who selflessly walk into danger to save another life, as Sheriff Tim Donnellon stated. Mayor Pauline Repp said, “While we would like to forget about that tragedy, it is important to remember those who gave their lives to help others”.
