A 22-year-old Ira Township woman has died after being struck by a car in Ira Township Sunday evening. The woman was one of three women transported to McLaren Macomb hospital following a car pedestrian accident. A 50-year-old New Baltimore woman was reported to have been headed south on Bethuy Road, north of Dixie Highway about 8:30 p.m. Sunday when she struck four women who were walking along the fog line, according to a news release from the St. Clair County Sheriff Department. The driver stated she did not see the pedestrians as she was coming around the curve until it was too late. The women injured, were were ages, 44, 43 and 22. A one-year-old who was in a stroller was checked at the scene. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the incident. The incident remains under investigation.
