St. Clair County Community College’s Spiral Gallery at Studio 1219 in Port Huron will be featuring the work of SC4 adjunct instructor Michael Bladow of Marine City through Sept. 29. Bladow has taught ceramics as an adjunct instructor at SC4 for two years. The show will feature his areas of interest, which are raku, a type of Japanese pottery, and creating unique and imaginative work. A show opening is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14. Bladow also will be featured as an “SC4 Artist in Action” from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28. The “SC4 Artist in Action” takes place in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch him work and talk about art. Bladow earned his master of fine arts in ceramics from Wayne State University. He has taught art in middle school and high school in Marine City for more than 20 years. Each month, the work of an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured in the Spiral Gallery.
