Woman Identified In Pedestrian/Vehicle Accident

A 22-year-old Ira Township woman who died after being hit by a vehicle Sunday has been identified as Courtney Claus.  The woman was one of three Ira Township women were taken to McLaren Macomb hospital Sunday after a vehicle struck four people.  A 50-year-old New Baltimore woman was driving about 8:30 p.m. when she struck three women and a child in a stroller who were walking along the fog line, according to a news release from the St. Clair County Sheriff Department. The driver stated, she was coming around the curve and told police she did not see the pedestrians.  The condition of the other pedestrians, ages 44 and 43 is unknown. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the incident.  The women stated they had just left their homes in the Hometown America Mobile Home Park and were walking to a store.  The incident remains under investigation.
