A fire yesterday afternoon has left the attic area of a one-story home on the 1500 block of Phipps road in the village of Carsonville with considerable damage according to fire reports. Firefighters responded to the scene about 2 p.m. Wednesday and the fire was under control in just about one hour. Reports continue to say the home’s residents were in the home when the fire began, however there were no injuries incurred. The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined, but authorities do not believe there is reason for suspicion. Fire departments from Sandusky, Port Sanilac, Applegate and Croswell also responded to the scene.
