Blaze Destroys Home

Members of the Burtchville Township Fire Department responded to 3780 Lakewood Drive at shortly before 6:30 a.m. Sunday to flames visible through four windows of the ranch-style home.  Fire officials say the occupants of the home were able to escape with no injuries. The couple was renting the home and did not have renter’s insurance. The American Red Cross was called to help the couple.  The fire appeared to be electrical and started at a power strip in a bedroom. The house was destroyed.
