Ogden Retires – Brennan Appointed As Director Of Finance

Edward P. Brennan has been appointed as the Director of Finance for the City of Port Huron effective upon John Ogden’s retirement in December, 2012.  Ed is currently the Controller/City Treasurer and has worked for the City for 14 years.  The transition will begin on October 8, 2012 as Ed Brennan works with John Ogden to begin the process to take over the Director of Finance responsibilities.  John Ogden will retire on December 31, 2012 as the Director of Finance after working for the City of Port Huron for over 16 years.  Ed Brennan became a CPA in 1985 and he has 30 years of varied accounting and financial experience in both the public and private fields.  His business and governmental accounting and auditing experience was primarily with a local CPA firm before he established his own CPA firm in Port Huron in 1994.  He came to the City of Port Huron in 1998 as the City Controller.  In 2009 he took on the additional duties and responsibilities associated with the City Treasurer and Water Office Supervisor positions. Ed has a Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University.  He has taught Accounting and Business courses at St. Clair County Community College and Baker College of Port Huron.  Ed also attended the GFOA Advanced Government Finance Institute in Madison, Wisconsin as a scholarship recipient.
