A man was transported to Port Huron Hospital yesterday after Port Huron Police Officers deployed a stun gun on him shortly before 2 p.m. Officers are reported to have responded to the St. Clair River near the U.S. Coast Guard Hollyhock after a person reported an attempted purse snatching. The suspect was found a short distance away from the victim by the St. Clair River. Officers believed the man to be very intoxicated and when he became combative with the officers, the stun gun was deployed to subdue him. The man was expected to be moved to the county jail, once he was cleared at the hospital.
